Since 1999 E.C. (2006 G.C.), following the implementation of Ethiopia’s Outcome-Based Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Strategy, the expansion of technical and vocational institutions has accelerated across the Oromiyaa Region. In response to this national reform and the growing need for skilled manpower, Dodola TVET College was established in 2001 E.C. (2008 G.C.) through strong community participation and the committed support of the Dodola Town Administration, after the TVET strategy was restructured into an improved Educational framework.

Dodola TVET College plays a vital role in addressing local and regional workforce needs by delivering demand-based, market-oriented training programs. The College is designed to respond directly to labor market requirements, ensuring that training is aligned with industry standards, community priorities, and emerging economic opportunities. By focusing on practical skills, competency-based instruction, and close collaboration with employers and stakeholders, the institution prepares graduates who are job-ready, self-reliant, and capable of contributing meaningfully to local economic development.
